I agree with the following statement because it is a civic duty as an American to vote for things. A lot of people complain about things that certain politicians do but if they did not vote then they have no room to complain because they obviously do not feel strong enough about the issue to go out and support the politician that supports their ideas. If somebody does not like either politician, they should still go and leave a blank vote because I believe that every citizen of the U.S. should vote.

I agree with this statement!! I think that so many people complain about our contry and the people in office, but have no room to talk becasue they do nothing about it. We try and make it fair so everyone can put their imput into things, but people who don't vote almost validate that freedom. It would even be better if they went to vote, but didn't fill it out becuase at least than they put their opinion into the election. Like we saw, people put soooo much work into elections, and makeing sure that everyone can vote, so why not? I think that everyone should vote!

I agree with the statement because I believe everyone should vote. If you don't vote then you are not helping out what you believe in. People complain everyday about people in office and the ones that do this and don't vote can't say anything. You have to vote to show what you believe in and help out the country.I think if you don't vote your letting everyone down including the country itself.o

I agree with the statement because voting is an opportunity to be heard as a country. Not voting could be interpreted as not caring about what happens in the country you live in. People should care about what happens around them because it ultimately affects them. Also, there has been so much fight for the right to vote. Women and African Americans couldn't vote for the longest time and now that every citizen of America has the right to vote. I feel that everyone should exersise their right. Some countries don't have a say in their leaders. We are the fortunate ones who do.

I strongly agree with this statement because everybody has an opinion about what the government is doing. If people complain about the politicians or the way the government is, they should voice their opinion throught voting. Not voting is saying you don't care or you're just too lazy to try and make a difference. Even if they leave a blank ballet, they are still exercising their right to vote; they are showing they care. By not voting, they are not taking a part in things that effect the whole country, like voting on the next president. So I believe that everyone should vote.

I agree with the statement. It is our constitutional right to vote and anybody who doesn't exercise that right has no right to complain about our country. If only half of the people vote in an election, and the election is really close, the outcome would have been completely different if everyone voted. Senator Brown in Massachusetts might not be in office if more people would have voted. The guest speaker said that if 5 more people would have showed up to each polling place and voted against him, he would have lost. He is going to play a big factor in the passing (or more likely not passing) of the health care bill that would affect millions of Americans' lives. It might sound cliche but every vote truly does count.

I fully support the statement that says “A citizen lets the country down when they choose not to vote” because it is our right as an American citizen to vote and let our individual voices be heard. In some countries, they do not even have the right, or rather the privilege, to vote and elect their next President or country official. Therefore, it is only to our benefit as Americans living in the greatest country in the world with endless amounts of opportunities, to vote. To think about the fact that some people in foreign countries still aren't even able to vote due to their race, religious beliefs, etc is absurd, considering it is the 21st century. We as Americans have long surpassed the era of Women’s suffrage and African American slavery and all the trials and tribulations with their voting rights, and it is only fitting that it is to our benefit not only as an individual, but as one united country, to vote and voice our opinions.

I agree with this statement because as an American citizen everyone should vote. People are always wanting change to happen, especially with the economy. They need to vote for people in order to make that change happen. If we have the privilege and the right to be able to vote on major things that will affect our country, then why not do everyone a favor and vote for them? I believe that every citizen should vote.

I support this statement because alot of close elections in the past could've been closer if only
citizens from both sides of the poll would've gone out an voted. I strongly believe in some cases that if only senators, governors,or whoever was running for a position at the time could've had about 2 or 3 more people gone out an voted for them, they would have won. I d
o believe that a citizen lets down the country when they choose not to vote and its very obvious when the results come back from the ele
ctions.

I agree with this statement but I believe that if you don't have a knowledgable and logical reason to vote, and you're just voting because your friends like the candidate for example, then you shouldn't vote. If this were the case, then you should at least go and put in a blank ballot, because at least you're not putting an illogical vote, but you're still in a way voting.

I agree with that statement! I feel that so many people are always complaining about our government. So it may just be one vote but that one vote someday may change everything. I understand why the people that vote complain cause they didnt get there way and are a little sour about it and like to gloat when that person they didn't choose messes up, but if you didn't vote at all you shouldn't get that right to complain or even be proud about the person cause you had no part in having them win.

I think you guys have shared some really good thinking about voting in the United States. It's interesting to read your thoughts on this important right and responsibility.

I agree with the following statement, Alot of people complain about how things work in this country and that is understandable, but you should only complain after you ahve voted because that is the biggest way that your voice will be heard. When a person does not vote it shows that they dont care enough about what happens with their country.

I agree with the statement because if americans didn't vote we have choices made for us that we would disagree with and rebel towards the government. If the government is not giving us the right treatmen then we all will have an huge problem. What we want won't matter unless we do something.

it's up to us americans to make the change. when someone doesn't commit to our freedom they ruin it.

I totally agree with this statement beacause as a American citizen voting is one of the most important things to do when your turn 18. If you dont vote than your basically letting down your country as a American citizen.

I agree, often times when a citizen doesn't vote he or she doesn't know what is going on in the world or locally. when you don't vote you are making it a lesser chance to have a better life.

I agree with the statement, because it is your dutie as a country to vote for what you believe in and if you do not do that then you are in turn letting down your country. When people vote that means that they are voicing what they want in thier country, and for the people that chose not to vote then that means that they do not necisarrily support their country
